Hi, I'm Marlen

Photographer, videographer & loving dog owner

I love being on the go – golden sunsets, vibrant cities, matcha lattes, vegan restaurants, exploring new places and good music are a few of the things that make me happy in my daily life.

Dogs have been a part of my life ever since I was a child. At the age of 10, I was already passionately photographing them and capturing them in videos – today those recordings have become precious memories for me. With my love for photography and videography, I now want to provide these unforgettable memories to other dog owners with their four-legged friends as well. It makes me endlessly grateful to have turned my passion into a profession.

Nilay - my faithful travel companion

Nilay, born in 2021, is my Border Collie girl and my childhood dream come true. She accompanies me on all my travels and loves exploring new places and meeting new people or dogs just as much as I do. She loves being in front of my camera and lives for agility.

Lissy - my soul dog

A farewell forever, but never forgotten 2011-2022

Lissy was one of a kind. She accompanied me through my entire time at school and university, moved to Austria with me and fell asleep in my arms forever after months of illness. Even today, several years after her death, I can’t write a text about her without tears welling up in my eyes.

Lissy shaped my entire life today and laid the foundation for many of my friendships, interests and also for my work. She was not an easy dog, taught me infinite patience and acceptance and often pushed me to my limits. I am convinced that you only get a dog like her once in a lifetime and I am incredibly grateful for the countless photos and videos in which she lives on forever.

Sprotte - the beginning of everything

2006 - 2019

Sprotte – our family dog, with whom it all began. Very adaptive and enthusiastic about learning tricks, she taught me the basics of dog communication as a child. Her ears, which were usually pinned back when taking photos, quickly showed me that not every dog automatically feels comfortable in front of the camera.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work full-time as a photographer/videographer?

Yes – since I graduated in 2022, I have been working full-time as a self-employed photographer and videographer.

I mainly shoot photos and videos of dogs. From time to time, however, other animals or even people appear in front of my lens. Photographic or cinematic documentation of weddings in particular brings a pleasant change to my usual working day.

People often ask me what equipment I use for photography and whether I also use the same equipment for filming. The answer is yes – I use the same camera and lenses for photography and filming. I shoot with high-quality Canon technology – but I have to say that the equipment is definitely not everything and the majority of the result depends on the work behind the camera.

Canon R5 Mark II
Canon R5
Canon RF 85mm f/1.2
Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8
Canon RF 35mm f/1.8
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8

Normally not. Nilay is with me on all my trips and is a very quiet, easy-going dog. Nevertheless, I prefer to leave her at home or in the car during shootings – if organizationally possible – so that I can work without distraction.
Only in rare cases, for example if it is too hot in the car and I have no accommodation available, does she accompany me to shootings. But in any case only by prior arrangement.

My travel destinations are a mixture of my own wishes and destinations planned specifically for shoots. I usually post my next destinations and available shoot dates in my Instagram story. However, since I also like to adapt my planning to shooting or coaching requests, it’s best if you just write to me personally if you’re interested so that I can let you know if a trip to your area is in the cards.
